Van Alstyne is a city in Grayson and Collin Counties North of Dallas. It is located between McKinney and Sherman. It was founded in 1873 when the railroads began their rapid expansion and formation of new settlements. Van Alstyne is frequently called one of the best small towns in Texas to raise a family because of the opportunities. It has that small town feel, yet close to all the big city amenities. It is home to the Van Alstyne Panthers.
